One Room Challenge: Bathroom Demo Day

One Room Challenge: Bathroom Demo Day /// By Design Fixation #diy #homeimprovement #bathroom

Here’s a little peak at what bathroom demo day looked like… and it was just as fun as Chip says (Fixer Upper reference… gotta love that show). It turns out that hammering ugly tile that you despise can be very cathartic. Here are a few things we learned on demo day:

1. Wear protective gear.

Always wear closed-toe shoes on the worksite! (See argument A below).

2. Expect the unexpected.

When we removed the ceiling fan cover, two syringes fell out! (Empty, thank god). I don’t think I want to know why a previous occupant hid them there. Or why they had them to begin with.

3. Allow yourself plenty of time.

Double the amount of time you think it will take to complete your demo. You will no doubt run into issues along the way, and you’ll likely need to make at least eleven trips to Lowe’s.

Stay tuned for some progress photos next week. Head over here to check out all the other participants’ progress. And in case you missed them, here are my first two ORC posts:
