A while back, I went to New York City with a friend and we picked the Nolita neighborhood to explore for the day. What a colorful place! It’s located just above Manhattan’s Little Italy, hence the name… Nolita is short for “North of Little Italy.” It lies east of SoHo, south of NoHo, west of the Lower East Side and north of Chinatown and Little Italy. Below are a few of my favorite spots that we stopped… everywhere you turn you’ll see an Imsta-worthy shot!
Tacombi at Fonda Nolita welcomes you with a colorful bike outside, tempting you into the uniquely decorated space that is complete with a VW bus food truck inside. We didn’t end up eating here, but the menu looked delicious!
Italian restaurant Pietro Nolita is definitely a destination for selfie-lovers… so of course we took a few photos too. Word is that the interior is just as colorful!
Lively has a location in the Nolita area, and it’s worth a trip just for the eye candy. It is impeccably designed! I loved this “Do What You Love” sign so much… I shared it on Instagram too (along with a very interesting discussion on the future of blogging).
The Elizabeth Street Garden is worth a stroll too… it has all kinds of fun artwork and sculpture, as well as tables and chairs to sit and have a picnic.
Bradelis is a lingerie company with a lovely storefront that incorporates all kinds of faux tropical plants and leaves around the doorway.
The front of L’Appartement Sézane was gorgeous too, thanks to its floral accented storefront and pink lemonade.
And last but not least, one of my favorite pieces of street art that we walked by… “wake up dream big!”
