The other day I was gazing upon my recent pins on Pinterest, and I noticed a very obvious trend – textured walls. We’re talking painted tin tiles, wooden feature walls, tactile wallpaper, stone and more. And I must say that I’m loving it (only partly because we have a couple of textured accent walls in our house 😉 ).
I’m loving the first example above… grasscloth wallpaper in a dark, moody gray adds lots of drama to this bathroom.
The dining room above appears to be lined with a painted tin tile of some sort… whatever it is, I’m into it.
This kitchen brings the outdoors in with a rustic stone wall in the kitchen. I’m digging the juxtaposition of the modern gray cabinets with the stone. Wowza!
Raw wood panels on the walls extend to the ceiling in this open, airy living space, giving it a very bold look.
This bedroom started out as a plain Jane space with nothing remarkable to speak of – but not anymore! These windowpane style wooden accents provide some serious character.
This painted tile deserves a spot on the list, thanks to its raised effect and energetic pattern.
This room appears to be an indoor-outdoor space, and the worn brown shingles add lots of interest to the otherwise simple decor.
The stone wall in this kitchen adds texture to a fairly modern space, giving it that rustic contemporary look that is oh-so-tricky to accomplish.
One example of shiplap had to make the list… it’s a lovely way to add a touch of farmhouse charm to any room. Doesn’t it look perfect with the patterned floor tile in the bathroom above?
And I couldn’t resist ending with this incredible oyster shell wall… perhaps not the easiest effect to pull off, but it makes a bold statement in this Florida powder room!
So what do you think? Are you into textured walls? If you’re on the hunt for more inspiration, be sure to check out this post.
