Week 4 in the Design Fixation guest bedroom was a productive one. The biggest change was in the paint department… we now have a dark turquoise accent wall! I’m still planning to paint a subtle pattern over it in a darker turquoise color, but even the flat turquoise makes a huge difference. We ended up going with Tsunami by Behr. Surprisingly, it only took two coats. I also bought the paint for the other walls – Pure White by Sherwin Williams.
The next choice is lighting… I was planning to do two of the black table lamps (left), but now I’m really liking this black, white and brass sconce (right). Thoughts?
We ordered the bed frame I mentioned last week, and it should be arriving in the next day or two. The ceilings in this room are quite low (along with most of the other ceilings in our house… it was built in 1840, after all) so I think the lower bed will make the room feel a lot larger.
I played around with styling the dresser too, which took a little longer than I thought…
