When we found out that Baby Provencher was on her way, I was so excited – this is actually happening, we’re having a baby! Then I got nervous… this is actually happening lol. And then I realized I had a very valid excuse to completely redecorate a room – and Pinterest didn’t know what hit it. I searched the Internet from top to bottom looking for inspiration, and I shopped ’til I dropped (almost literally… pregnancy fatigue is real) and now we have our dream nursery and are so happy with it. Hope you like it too!
I picked the color scheme first. I adore the dark turquoise color you see on the accent wall… my obsession with it started on our honeymoon in France. Mike and I were paddle boarding on the Mediterranean and I looked down into the water and saw that color, and I’ve been enamored with it ever since. I wanted to add a bit of a feminine touch to the space, so I paired it with a muted blush pink color along with lots of whites and natural tones.
Mike is very handy around the house, so he made the shelves by staining wood boards and then mounting them on the wall using these black brackets. The pink globe is from World Market and the baskets are from The Container Store.
The artwork is actually made with pressed leaves from our recent trip to Italy (Baby P was along for the ride in utero) which I pinned to a watercolor background and framed in a shadowbox. This is a fun, easy way to memorialize items from your travels!
Here’s the opposite wall. We bought the dresser at a local furniture consignment shop and repainted it white (check out the hideous “before” photo here). This is the diaper pail that we got, and here’s the changing table pad.
We got this highly-rated wipe holder from Ubbi and put it in a wine crate (Mike does sell wine for a living, after all!) along with a bunch of impossibly tiny newborn diapers. The pump bottle holds hand sanitizer… so much more attractive than the original packaging!
The lamp might be one of my favorite parts of the nursery… my late father made the base of the lamp in wood shop way back in the day, and I rewired it and added the tassel lamp shade (DIY of course). A two generation DIY that I can’t wait to tell Baby P about one day.

I have a bit of a thing for chalkboards, so I bought a sandwich board style one from Michaels which will eventually become a place for baby to draw and get creative, but for now I’m using it to practice my hand lettering skills 🙂
The lamp is from Amazon (I added the tassels myself… check out my Instagram post on it here) and the basket is from HomeGoods.
Now go check out Part 2 of the nursery decor tour… it has lots of other details, angles and a video!
