Baby Provencher is due in just about a month (where did time go?!), which means that nursery decorating is in full swing. It’s about 90% finished at this point… all that’s left to do is some styling. Recently I shared one corner of the space, and today I’m going to give you a little tour of the nursery reading nook that I created.
It has all the necessities, plus a few extra luxuries like this incredible boho chic pouf. You guys, I’m totally obsessed with this thing. It ties in almost all of the main colors in the room, plus it adds some serious texture to a space where tactile surfaces will soon be very important 😉 And here are some other poufs to check out if you have a different color scheme.
Next up, window treatments. I knew I wanted to have light block curtains, but I also know from experience that it’s tough to find a functional light block curtain that’s pretty too. White curtains were always the plan, but I wanted to infuse them with a bit of extra punch.
So I added pom pom trim! There’s no sewing involved with this upgrade… all you’ll need is a hot glue gun. I bought these curtains from Wayfair, and they really do block out all of the light; I could practically set up a darkroom in there. (But I won’t.) Lol. Here are some other curtain options too.
Attach the trim to the back side of the inner edge of each panel, and voilà – pretty and functional curtains for the nursery. Other necessities you’ll need for a reading nook… a comfy chair, a lamp, a side table and of course lots of books!
I’m really happy with the way our nursery reading nook turned out… thanks to Wayfair for helping to bring my vision to life. I can’t wait to read all the adorable baby books to our new little one 🙂
