If you’ve ever run across Emily Geaman Fanning on Instagram, you know that she has style and talent galore… so when I heard that she and her husband had renovated their bathroom, I knew it was going to be good. She has a blog called Shell Chic’d where she shares her musings on travel, fashion, entertaining and everything in between. Her posts are filled with glamorous, pastel-colored little snippets from her life… and her new bathroom follows suit.

The room is small, so the goal was to lighten it up, maximize space and bring the design into the 21st century. Bye-bye pink tiles!

They removed everything right down to the studs, as you can see above in the process photo. It’s amazing what buildings look like underneath all those decorative elements, right?

Their new bathroom is like a breath of fresh air… open, bright and filled with luxurious finishing touches. But it is also extremely functional, a crucial aspect for a bathroom! (Especially when it’s your only bathroom, like it is in this case).

I love that the fixtures and hardware have a bit of a vintage French vibe.

They chose to keep a few pieces from the original bathroom, including the doorknob and the pedestal sink, honoring the history of the space.
