Last month I went to Palm Springs for Alt Summit, a creative conference for bloggers and small businesses… and it was INCREDIBLE. I came back with an immense amount of knowledge and a whole lot of new blogger friends.
Sherwin-Williams may have won the prize for most beautiful booth (although it was a very tight race). I’m already a fan of their products (I used their interior paint in our living room and in our two entryway spaces) so it was fun to chat with them about all of their new products and services.
I’m newly obsessed with Grove Collaborative, a company on a mission to help people create healthy beautiful homes (i.e. NO harmful chemicals). And if you like the look of their booth, then you can only imagine how beautiful their products are. Their charcoal soap might be my favorite thing in the world – it completely solved my… wince, this is embarrassing… adult acne problem. I no longer look like a pre-pubescent teenager! Click here to get started with Grove… they always have some kind of free offer going for new customers. Happy shopping!
The Wayfair booth was styled a different way each day, and they were telling everyone about their new design services that they’ll be rolling out soon… so stay tuned for that! After seeing this fabulous hand planter, I think my succulents are in desperate need of one. #plantgoals
The Joann booth was probably the most colorful of the bunch… look at that peacock chair! I need one. It was fun to check out their products and hear about what they’re up to this year. Joann is where I went as a wee kiddo to fuel my budding crafting habit, so it holds a special place in my heart 🙂
This is how I felt. The whole time.
Attention to design was everywhere, even on the speakers’ stage. That chair is to-die-for, and I noticed them all over Palm Springs. Trend alert!
When I say it’s the most colorful conference on earth, I mean it.
When a giant balloon installation welcomes you to your conference, you know it’s gonna be good!
And I met Stacy London! I don’t know about you guys, but I was completely obsessed with What Not To Wear for a long time, so it was totally surreal meet her in person. She was nice enough to shake hands with a huge line of bloggers after speaking candidly about being a TV personality who ran out of money because of a shopping habit. Don’t worry, there was a happy ending 🙂
Last year we didn’t have time to check out the Moorten Botanical Garden, but this year we made time. And I’m so glad we did! It was filled with the most dreamy desert plant life… cacti and succulents galore.
And of course, a trip to Palm Springs wouldn’t be complete without a visit to That Pink Door and the Party Lions who get all gussied up in different pool floats depending on the occasion. If you find yourself in Palm Springs for Alt Summit (or just for pleasure), be sure to drive by… they’re located on East Sierra Way. But leave your camera in your pocket, because now the owners of That Pink Door are saying #nophotographyplease. What!?!
