It felt like the holiday season flew by this December, and now here we are on the cusp of a brand new year! And as most of you know, I like to decorate. (That may be the understatement of the decade.) So I partnered up with Treetopia.com to give my dining room a fresh look for New Year’s Eve. You may remember my gilded woodland Christmas decor that I shared a few weeks back… well, I’m continuing with that same gold theme for New Year’s Eve.
I started with a beautiful gold garland from Treetopia, laying it across my mantel and covering it in frosted string lights. A few beaded ornaments were the perfect finishing touch for the top of the mantel.
I also dressed up the front of the mantel with the phrase “pop fizz clink,” using gold adhesive letters. You should be able to find something similar at your local craft store.
The overall look is warm and festive, perfect for celebrating the arrival of the new year. It looks beautiful once the sun goes down too, thanks to the bright glow of the string lights.
The ornaments come as a set of six, with three copper ones and three gold ones. This color variation gives the look a lot of extra dimension, preventing it from becoming too monochromatic. I also love that they can be used for two different holidays… the more use I get out of holiday decorations, the better!
I also decked out my bar cart, creating a champagne station so guests can help themselves once their glasses are empty. It’s right next to the dining room table too, so nobody has to get up at dinner to refill their glass.
I wound a second set of the Sweet As Sugar string lights around the top of the cart, and put a bottle of champagne on ice inside of a decorative footed glass vase.
To continue with the typography theme from the mantel, I also added the word “cheers!” to the top surface of the bar cart using the same gold adhesive letters.
The bulbs add a bit of extra functional light so you can see what you’re doing, but they also cast a warm inviting glow over the whole area.
I hope you enjoyed my glam gold New Year’s Eve decor ideas… you can check out four other bloggers’ posts this week too by heading to the sites below. Cheers to a fantastic 2018!
