If you follow along with Design Fixation, you know that I’ve been making an effort to share higher quality posts filled with more useful content. So when my blogger friend Kim of Hunt & Host agreed to share her home with all of you, I was thrilled! Although I enjoy posting random interiors from around the internet, it’s just so refreshing to share a real home once in a while.
So click “read more” to step inside her home in Bryan, Texas and take a look around!
First, let’s start in the breakfast nook. This is one of Kim’s favorite areas to snuggle up with the kids in the morning, and also one of Gigi the dog’s nap spots. You can see the den in the background.
Here’s a full view of the den, the more relaxed of the two living areas. Kim smartly uses the built-ins to hide all of the kids’ toys. It also opens right up to the backyard.
Now onto the kitchen. The Carrara marble countertops lend a luxe, high end feel to the space while the vintage-looking light fixtures prevent it from looking stuffy. And the most amazing part of this kitchen is the transformation… see the before photos right here.
Next up, we have the living room. I’m pretty much in love with the dark blue walls that contrast so perfectly with rust-colored sofa. And all of those vintage book sets? Perfection. You won’t believe the makeover in this room either… it used to be dark red with pink-ish accents. Check out the before and afters here.
Here is the master bath. They unexpectedly unearthed the exposed brick wall during demo, and what a find! It adds such a beautiful texture to the space. And that chandelier. WOW.
More Carrara marble graces the countertops in the master bath, again adding an upscale feel. And this room might be the most dramatic of all the transformations… see the pink carpeted before photos here.
This stunning little sitting area shows the power of styling. I love that she’s made spare change look so pretty!
Here’s a little peek at another bathroom… this one is used by Kim’s boys. Don’t you love the way the walls are tiled? Check out the rest of this bathroom right here.
And last but certainly not least, their backyard is the stuff dreams are made of. I like the way they’ve sectioned off different zones using a variety of flooring materials and strategically placed vegetation. And trust me, it is a vast improvement over the yard they started with. See the makeover here.
What a home, right? It’s inspired me to do some spring cleaning and get my backyard in order 🙂 Feel like checking out some more home decor inspiration? Head over here.
