Tassels are on trend. Leather is on trend. And wine is (always) on trend. So I combined the three into one fabulously easy DIY project… leather tassel wine charms. Read on to find out how to make them and where to buy the materials.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your leather tassel wine charms:
– Leather tassels (I bought mine here… but beware that they take a couple of weeks to arrive!)
– Gold earring hoops
– Pliers
If your earring hoops seem too large for the stems of your wine glasses, go ahead and trim a bit off of the end of each hoop. In the first couple of photos above, you can see that the earring hoops are bent at the end so they hook into the tiny loops at the other end. If yours don’t come like this (you can see that mine did not), all you need to do is to bend an eighth of an inch of the end of the wire up (the end without the tiny hole) at a 45 degree angle. Then place the tassel on the wire hoop… and that’s it! You’re done! I told you it was easy.
Cute, right? They make great gifts, and they’re sure to be a hit at your next dinner party. Now I just need to find a good way to display them in the kitchen because they’re too pretty to hide in the cabinet….
