Sometime back in my youth I learned that you’re not supposed to mix black and brown when you’re picking an outfit to wear, and later I learned that this rule applied to interior design as well. Have you heard that rule? Well un-learn it, because it’s simply not true (in my opinion). But there is a trick to it: make sure that you choose lighter tones of brown. If your brown is too close in hue to black, they might clash and create a visually muddy feel. Above are a few fantastic examples of rooms that prove my point.
