Please excuse my lack of Good Taste posts, its been a while. (For those of you who are new to Good Taste here on Design Fixation: I feature a wine or liquor bottle with a creative label, then I review the juice inside).
This weekend I stumbled across one of the most unique wine labels I’ve ever laid eyes upon. It belonged to Bear Flag’s Dark Red Wine. First and foremost, cheers to a simple name… it doesn’t get easier than that. The label wraps almost all the way around the bottle, and a pair of hands “pull” the label apart. The backside includes drawings of, among other things, a dog and a high heel drawn in a graffiti sort of style. Seriously people, this is not an easy combination of items to successfully put on a wine bottle…. but, in the words of Tim Gunn, Bear Flag makes it work.
As for the wine inside the pretty bottle… rather delicious. Definitely some strong flavors, with a smooth finish. If you’re in the market for a good value (and some good conversation), try it.
