This week’s edition of {Good Taste} features a Mediterranean gin called Gin Mare. The bottle itself is appealing, tapering gently upward toward a sleek silver cap. Organic, leafy shapes are tucked behind the name and description, adding an artistic element. And the serif font accentuates those shapes. Lastly, the monochromatic color scheme highlights the clarity of the liquid. How do you feel about it?
I had to consult resident wine and spirits expert Big Moose for a gin recipe…. the only gin I’ve ever had is gin on the rocks, hold the rocks. And I’ve never had it since. Go figure. This week’s recipe is the Gin Fizz.
GIN FIZZ
– 2 oz. gin
– Juice of half a lemon
– 1 tsp. powdered sugar
– Carbonated water
Shake gin, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a highball glass over two ice cubes. Fill with carbonated water, stir, and serve.
