Now that it’s finally summer, I want to be outside all the time. I come up with every excuse possible to do my work outside. And I try to eat every meal outside. Because those of you who know me personally know that I hate winter, so once the weather is nice I try to soak up every single second of it.
One thing I hadn’t done outside in a while is have a picnic! So I grabbed one of these super handy picnic bags from Wayfair and invited a couple of girlfriends over for wine and cheese.
We spread out a colorful peshtemal blanket on the grass, opened a bottle of sauvignon blanc and snacked on cheese and crackers until the sun faded. My personal favorites are sharp cheddar and honey goat cheese, and I always have Nut Thins (for those of us who are gluten-free) as well as Toasteds or another regular cracker. And of course something sweet to go with the salty cheese… today I went with fresh cherries.
The backpack comes with everything you need to host a picnic for your girlfriends…. wine glasses (let’s face it, the most important part), a wine opener, plates, silverware, cloth napkins, and even salt and paper shakers. There is an insulated section to keep your cheeses cold, and side holsters for your wine.
Pretty pink peonies are optional, but they really add a nice touch… especially if you’re planning to take photos of your picnic for Instagram.
We also went analog and brought along a Polaroid camera. The wooden serving board doesn’t come with the backpack, but I highly recommend bringing one along so you have a sturdy surface to set your glasses down while you’re taking photos.
