It’s hard to believe, but the One Room Challenge is over! Our guest bedroom has undergone a pretty major major makeover… on a very minimal budget. We bought a new bed frame, sconces, paint and a few other small items, but on the grand scheme of makeovers, it was incredibly affordable. It’s proof that paint and a good layout can go a long way.
If you need to catch up, check out my other One Room Challenge posts leading up to the big reveal here.
Our old guest bedroom was a mishmash of old furniture, with no real focus. So I chose a color scheme and went with it.
The new space feels open and sophisticated, with a touch of playfulness. And Charlie the puggle approves! He likes to sit on the bed and watch the world go by outside the window.
This is a guest room, after all, so we put a basket of extra toiletries on the bedside table. Spray deodorant, Q-tips, soap, toothpaste and other necessities are arranged in a small basket.
Don’t forget to keep your guests hydrated! Add words to a glass pitcher by writing on it with a chalkboard pen.
And be sure to share your WiFi password with your guests! Simply frame a small printout with all of the necessary info.
In the opposite corner, I added a few coloring books and a pencil case filled with markers and colored pencils so people can get creative in their downtime.
Head over here to shop the room… I’ve shared links to all the major pieces so you can get the look in your house! Check out the featured One Room Challenge designers’ progress here, and my fellow guest participants’ progress here.
